Services Offered By Cloud Providers

You already have a general idea of who cloud service providers are and what they can do for your business. But are you aware of the specific services that they offer?

There are three main service models that you can expect from a cloud provider. The first one is IaaS, or Infrastructure as a Service. In this service model, the provider offers physical or virtual machines and other related resources. The focus would be on the nitty-gritty of the physical infrastructure, such as the location, hardware, data partitioning, backup and security. For example, the vmware cloudservice provider may also offer other resources such as file or object storage, firewalls, IP addresses, and load balancers. In some cases, they may also offer virtual local area networks.

A cloud service provider may also offer Software as a Service, or SaaS, where they offer mainly databases and application software. They also take on the management of the platforms and the physical infrastructure in use, and only let the users access the software from the cloud clients that were used. In some cases, the cloud provider may also provide both software and hardware maintenance and support.

The third service is the Platform as a Service, or PaaS, model. In this service model, the cloud provider will offer application developers a whole development environment, composed of development standards, distribution channels, and payment. 

They provide the computing platform and application developers will use this cloud platform for developing and running their software.

Among the three, the most basic and most common service provided is the IaaS. 
This is because businesses do not want to spend too much on the hardware, which is often very expensive. Of course, cloud providers vary in the types of services they offer, which is why there is a need to look into their offerings before making a choice on who to hire.
